CFD ANALYSIS OF GASKET USED IN TRIO OVENS

In line with the developing technology and customer needs, the white goods sector is growing rapidly. Competition and quality increase trigger manufacturers to produce the best product. Trio products are models that meet the oven, hob and dishwasher needs of customers in a single white appliance. Each system used in these products should not adversely affect the other system. For example, oven heat or dishwasher liquids should be prevented from reaching electronic cards. In the light of this information, hot air escape from the gaps around the shaft to which the fan circulating the air in the oven is connected should be prevented or reduced. In this way, the efficiency is increased by protecting the inside temperature of the oven, and it is ensured that the hot air and moisture output do not damage the electronic cards. In this study, heat losses were tried to be minimized by designing a gasket for the space around the fan that circulates the air inside the furnace chamber. In this context, the differences between the presence and absence of the designed gasket on the oven back cover were tried to be determined by CFD analysis. According to the CFD results, there is air leakage at a speed of 0.8 m/s from the gaps around the fan shaft. This leakage occurs in an area of 80mm2. It is thought that this leakage both increases the temperature of the components placed at the back of the furnace and increases the operating rate of the furnace. This study is a validation study. By validating the results obtained with experimental studies, it was decided to determine the component temperature increases and to compare the furnace energy measurements with the current situation.
