OFF-GRID HYBRID PHOTOVOLTAIC – MICRO WIND TURBINE RENWABLE ENERGY SYSTEM AND BATTERY STORAGE:ISTANBUL ISLANDS IS CASE STUDY

Abstract: The geography of the islands has many challenges to find a complete strategy to supply it with energy, especially renewable energy, which is an important research topic at the present time as a result of the trend of scientific research and the world in general towards alternative energy or what is called renewable energy as a result of the negative effects caused by the use of fuel on the environment in addition to the impact economy from the rise in fuel prices. And the fact that the use of renewable energy depends on the conditions in which it operates, which makes the reliability of its use questionable. Therefore, in this study, we worked to overcome these problems through the use of two types of renewable energy, where solar energy and wind energy were used, which provides more flexibility in obtaining energy, as well as one of the solutions through which the interruption in production is overcome for renewable energy It is the use of appropriate storage processes to store energy at times when production is good for the storage process to use the stored energy at times of high demand or changing conditions on which energy production depends . In this study, one of the islands near Istanbul was taken as a case study using solar energy and wind energy and using an energy storage process using batteries using an off-grid system, where the results were analyzed by the Homer Pro program.
